The most convincing clinical effect from using ozone therapy is obtained in the following nosologies:
- Acne treatment
- Correction of facial wrinkles, rejuvenation, correction of double chin, prevention of aging of face and neck skin.
- Cellulite Treatment
- Treatment of skin striae (stretch marks)
- Treatment of telangiectasia (spider veins)
- Treatment of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Ozone therapy is a treatment method, which is increasingly used in recent years in clinical practice. Ozone has a large variety of therapeutic effects. For example, it is known that it has antibacterial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects, it enhances microhemodynamics, promotes the correction of lipid peroxidation disorders and increases the activity of the antioxidant defense system. All these actions made it possible to use the method of ozone therapy in the treatment of a variety of diseases.
The developed techniques of general and local ozone therapy allow to utilize the differentiated assignment of physical factor with therapeutic and prophylactic purposes, depending on the nature and duration of the disease, inflammatory activity, presence of complications and comorbidities.
First ozone was tested as an antiseptic means by A.Wolff in 1915 during the First World War. Later there appeared more information on the successful use of ozone in the treatment of various diseases. However, for a long time people used mainly the methods of ozone therapy connected with direct contact with the outer surface of gas and various body cavities. Ozone-oxygen gas mixture of high concentrations (40 – 80 mcg / ml) is extremely effective for the ozone treatment of strongly infected, poorly healing wounds, pressure sores, gangrene, burns, fungal infections of the skin and it is used as well as a hemostat. Low concentrations of ozone promote epithelialization and healing.
In recent decades, we came to the forefront techniques connected with parenteral (intravenous, intramuscular, intra-articular, subcutaneous) inserting of therapeutic doses of ozone. For intravenous use ozone is dissolved in saline or the patient’s blood. Bei parenteral ozone inserting different biochemical processe start or get activated. In particular, it can be noticed in impaired activation of the antioxidant defense system that was damaged in many pathological conditions of the antioxidant defense system. Therapeutic doses of ozone inserted parenterally, essentially enhance the microcirculation and improve trophic processes in organs and tissues, affect the rheological properties of blood, have a pronounced immunomodulatory effect, contributing to sharp activation of detoxification of the body’s defense. The variety of mechanisms of therapeutic action of ozone determined the range of its clinical application.
The use of ozone therapy in the medical purposes.
Ozone therapy in used medicine for the treatment of diseases of different etiology and it is based on a unique range of its effects on the body. Ozone acts in therapeutic doses as an immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, cytostatic, anti-stress and analgesic means. Ozone has been used successfully in all areas of medicine: in urgent and purulent surgery, general and infectious therapy, gynecology, urology, dermatology, hepatology, Gastroenterology, dentistry, cosmetology and others. As an antiseptic agent ozone was used at the beginning of the century, but the intensive and systematic research in the field of ozone therapy began in the mid of 70’s, when in everyday medical practice there appeared polymeric materials resistant to ozone and convenient for ozone treatment plants. The people’s interest in ozone therapy intensified with the accumulation of information on its biological effects on the body and the reports from various clinics of the world about the successful use of ozone in the treatment of a variety of diseases.
The ozone treatment of cellulite is a leader, it is the most effective method in modern cosmetology. Ozone injections in the subcutaneous fatty tissue improves blood circulation with lipolytic properties, in addition, ozone destroys transitional cellulite partitions and tightens the skin.
In combination with ozone therapy we also usec the lymph drainage massage for detoxification, edema removal and shape improvement. In order to eliminate excess body abnormalities we apply mesotherapy. This method involves local injection of drugs with a pronounced lipolytic action.
During ozone therapy of the face zones, ozone is injected intradermally and subcutaneously , as the result the microcirculation is activated, the redox processes are getting improved, the synthesis of collagen and elastin increases, that provide the forming of the composite structures of the skin, its elasticity and firmness. After a course of procedures for the face freshens, the skin becomes fresh, small and medium wrinkles disappear, the deep one become more superficial and invisible.
When ozone is used properly, its therapeutic effects kill all kinds of bacteria, viruses, fungi and protozoa, have anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory and healing action. Ozone helps to restore the system of the oxygen transport, it releases oxygen, normalizes exchange of substances, hormones, relieves intoxication, expands blood vessels, improves microcirculation and blood flow. Ozone is successfully used in the treatment of vascular dystonia, a chronic syndrome fatigue, immunity is enhanced by intravenous injection of ozonated solutions or blood ozonation.
In our clinic, we use the following methods:
Autohemotherapy with ozone
50-150 ml of patient’s venous blood is intaken in the special container (as at donorship) then ozone oxygen gas compound is added into the container. The container contents are carefully mixed up therefore blood reacts with ozone and oxygen, and dark venous blood turns becomes bright red and oxygenated, as a result – its properties, structure and flow- ability change, it gains new medicinal fatures. The blood after this processing is dropping injected into the same vein, back to the patient on the same drainage system of the earlier blood sampling. So one injection in a vein is performed. The procedure lasts 30-40 minutes, the course consists of 10 procedures.
This method is the basic procedure for treatment of sharp and chronic diseases of all organs and systems of the body. This method has immunostimulating and immunomodulatory function depending on ozone concentration. It is used for treatment of serious diseases: rheumatism, autoimmune and coronary heart diseases, multiple sclerosis, bronchial asthma, stroke, herpes, acne, hepatitises, other viral and bacterial infections, and also secondary immunodeficiencies, vegeto- vascular dystonia and chronic fatigue syndrome.
Subcutaneous injections of ozone
This is the simplest method of injection that provides an analgesic and anti-inflammatory action, give stimulating effect. This method is most commonly used in cosmetics and is called “a secret weapon”of the beauty salons in Italy. Subcutaneous and intradermal injections are performed in pain or acupuncture points with disposable syringes of 3-5 ml with the finest needles.
The cosmetology performsthe chipping of problem areas (for cellulite, wrinkles, striae, scars, spider veins, acne, demodicosis, skin problems, as well as for weight loss and rejuvenation). The depth of facial wrinkles is reduced, “crow’s feet” disappear, the appearance and elasticity of the skin improve, the sweat and sebaceous glands get balanced, any inflammation, bags under the eyes are treated , the “lift” of the skin is realized, skin problems are eliminated.
The technique involves hypodermic injections with the hypodermic oxygen-ozone mixture at the location of the wrinkles and in other areas with signs of agingg
