Lip contouring is made by injecting of bio-gel that is valid for up to 5 years or with preparations based on hyaluronic acid, valid from 8 months to 2 years.
Contraindications. Acute inflammation in the area of injection, somatic or infectious diseases in the acute period.
If you have a chronic somatic ddisease this manipulation is performed in remission after the examination of the patient.
The technique of the operation. The procedure is performed under the local anesthesia, it takes about 30 minutes and does not require a rehabilitation period. After the infiltration anesthesia the skin is pierced in the zone of the mouth or in the areas requiring correction, and the gel is injected. Depending on the purpose of correction the gel can be inserted intramuscularly, submucously or subcutaneously. After the injection, massage is performed in order to distribute the gel in the tissues equally.
The postoperative period. There may be slight swelling, bruising in the place of the the injection. It can happene within 2-3 days. First days after the procedure you should limit your facial mimicry. Within 2 weeks you must avoid solarium and sauna.
On the first day it is recommended to apply a cold compress several times a day for 20-30 minutes. The doctor prescribes desensitizing drugs. If it is necessary, some massage, antibiotics, physiotherapy can be also prescribed. You should avoid trauma, overheating (sauna, solarium), excessive exercise.
The inserted gel gives ‘shrinkage’ (there is absorption of water contained in the gel), so you can notice some decrease in volume and a slight change in the contour. It means if you need the next pocedure it can be performed in 1-2 weeks, depending on the selected drug.
